Study Session: The plans for redesign of the Open Space entry were presented and discussed. The redesigned entry will be through the entrance leading to the OSAC meeting room.
Regular Session: Approval was given to move forward with due diligence on approximately 622 acres of the Booth Ranch on the North side of Ralston Creek between White Ranch OS and Golden Gate State Park. Open Space was in negotiations for a larger property that included the 622 acres in the late 1990s when it was sold to a third party. Open Space obtained an easement for a portion of the property and the balance ultimately reverted to the initial owners.
Approval was given to move forward with due diligence on 1511 acres located about 3 miles south of Deer Creek Park that are adjacent to the Waterton Canyon Recreation Area and a nearby 715-acre State Land Board property. If the two areas could be combined it would preserve a large, unfragmented wildlife habitat, plus provide a trail connection to Waterton Canyon.
